What is Liberation Farm?
Liberation Farm is operated by Nadia and Omowale. Liberation Farm is a space for Black culture to cultivate food and community on 17 acres of farmland woodland in Sullivan County, NY. Our space is Unapologetically Black. It means we focus on teaching and assisting Black descendants who are less than 2% of the farmers in the US. Liberation Farm is a 100% vegan space. Pleas
Liberation Farm grows organic vegan produce. The farm is designed to help the Black Diasporic community learn how to grow and cultivate People and Plants autonomously.
Liberation Farm is an Unapologetically Black space. Liberation Farm assists the Black Diaspora in healing and reconnecting various Black ethnicities. 1-Through oral and written history, we teach and learn about our ancient values and customs lost, forgotten, misunderstood or destroyed. 2-We welcome the process of community reconciliation by navigating our lost history and culture through the ugly history of the Middle Passage (16th-18th century), the system of slavery (16th-19th century), Segregation Era (1865-1965) and the current period of miseducation, disinformation and surviving liberalism and far right politics (1863-Present). Recognition: This timeline and history is incomplete without the inclusion of Black People who characterize themselves as Australian, Aborgine, Caribbean, Creole, South African, Southeast Asian, West and Central African, Westerner, or otherwise melanated person through the descent of Africa. 3-And through the inclusion of modern history and what we understand, we recreate new customs and values that are shaped by an "Unapologetically Black" framework.
This year, Liberation Farm began offering engaging events with workshops on liberation theory, horticulture and agricultural farming, outdoor survival skills, and building egalitarian systems. In 2022, Liberation Farm will host financial literacy, business development and real estate classes.
Liberation Farm is located in Jeffersonville, NY. All visitors are required to announce and register their visit prior to attending an event or scheduling a meeting. Upon confirmation, you will be provided with proper details to attend.
